The brief

Retail interiors date quickly, usually because the fixtures are built in and cannot follow the merchandising.

This fit-out is built around a perimeter wall system and a family of free-standing circular display plinths on a common module. Staff can move, add or remove display without any construction work, so the store can be reset for a new season in an evening.

Lighting does most of the work. A dark ceiling absorbs light rather than bouncing it around, so the track-mounted accent lighting over each plinth and wall bay reads with real contrast and the product is what you actually see. Decorative pendants mark the centre aisle and give the space a ceiling height it would not otherwise register.
