Landscape and external works design, from private gardens and roof terraces to public grounds and community open space.

The approach

In this climate the space around a building does as much work as the building itself. Shade trees, planted setbacks and paved courts all change how usable a house is through the hot months.

We design external works as part of the architecture: levels and drainage first, because waterlogging is the fastest way to ruin a garden in Dhaka, then hard landscape, then planting chosen for species that survive the local monsoon and dry season without constant replacement.

Roof terraces get particular attention, since they are often the only outdoor space a city plot can offer.
